SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT CASE STUDY PROJECT
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This grant supports an exploratory program to assist in the development of case study artifacts and teaching support materials, which can be used in a "case study" approach throughout a computer science and software engineering curriculum. The project objectives include: 1) Produce software development artifacts, which provide a "real world" basis for teaching software engineering practices. 2) Design and organize the real-world software development artifacts into a set of case modules (mini case studies), which can be used throughout a computing curriculum. 3) Deliver software development resource materials, which can be adapted to various teaching and learning styles and techniques. 4) Engage computing educators in the assessment, use, and development of the case study materials. 5) Assess the value of the case study approach to student learning.
